This will be managed on a contract basis with a seed company in the Netherlands. We are currently in talks with the company that is interesting in working with OAU I-Farms to establish a base in Nigeria.

The company is willing to supply all inputs and possibly arrange financing. Part of the seeds will be supplied to other units within the Agro Park such as the Students Internship Program, open field/greenhouse horticulture and the crop production unit while some will be distributed outside. There will be some research activities as well as exchange and visitation programs with the parent company and its other project locations.

It is important to mention here that there exists a very huge demand opportunity for breeder seeds in Nigeria, especially to boost productivity, as farmers result to using own harvest seeds for planting – this system does give ultimate yields.
